Dr. Nancy Urankar, the “NU” in “NU House Calls,” is an established Lehigh Valley physician. Her new practice offers the Lehigh Valley area home-based treatment and diagnostic services normally found in a physician’s office or outpatient clinic setting.
NU House Calls is a medical practice “on wheels.” Dr. Urankar began this unique practice when it became apparent that medicine practiced in the “traditional” setting did not fully meet patients’ needs. The privacy and convenience of being seen in one’s home or office lends itself more fully to the comprehensive approach to medical care so essential today.
Dr. Urankar is a general internist (with a geriatric specialty) who has more than 25 years experience in the private practice, hospital, assisted-living and nursing home environments. She is board certified, and a member of the American College of Physicians and the Pennsylvania Medical Society.

The difference between a house call and a traditional doctor’s office visit – more privacy, personal and comfortable care. Quality care that is more convenient without wasted waiting time. Call NU House Calls when you are ill or just not feeling right. Once Dr. Urankar arrives, she will.....

  • Obtain your medical history
  • Perform an appropriate examination
  • Discuss her findings and thoroughly explain her diagnosis
  • Educate you about your condition and the medication she intends to prescribe
  • Make sure any questions and concerns are discussed and answered
  • Dispense medication(s) and/or provide prescriptions
  • Summarize and plan for a follow-up visit if necessary

Dr. Urankar will also provide, as part of your participation fee, preventive health services and an annual health assessment at your location so that you and she can develop a schedule of regular screenings and check-ups to keep you on the road to good health. Services such as ...

  • Physical examinations
  • Medication management and medication refills
  • Health and exercise assessment
  • Flu shots and other vaccines
  • Diabetic screening and monitoring
  • Coumadin management

In addition, as part of her practice, Dr. Urankar can arrange and coordinate a spectrum of limited additional services that can also be performed in your home. These services include ultrasound, X-rays, psychological counseling, pharmacy consulting, and geriatric fitness assessments.

To enroll in NU House Calls, please call 610-393-3966.

“Professional service with a personal touch” We are all as different as our properties; therefore, identifying your personal needs is my top priority!

As long as I’ve been in the Real Estate business, since 1988, I’ve been more concerned with telling people the truth, and being a consultant rather than a salesperson. I figured if I did that right, I’d build a base and develop personal referrals. 28 years and many referrals later, my philosophy is still the same. If you’d like to find out what your home is worth in today’s market...and perhaps start looking for your next home, call today...let’s talk!

Medical Alert Systems

Maintain Your Independence is in the peace of mind business. A medical alert system from Maintain Your Independence helps to eliminate the fears that can lead to a senior’s immobility. Wearing one of our pendants gives those that use it an opportunity for a higher more independent quality of life. It also gives family and caregivers peace-of-mind.

Many older adults want to age in place but either they or their loved ones are unsure if it is safe to do so. If you are not sure ask yourself these questions:

  • Do you fear falling and not being able to get up?
  • Do you live alone without family or friends close by?
  • Do you have a medical condition that makes you dizzy or even black out?
  • Do you want the security of emergency medical assistance?
  • Do your loved ones constantly worry about you?

If you answered “yes” to any of these questions it may be time to investigate a medical alarm from Maintain Your Independence. We have products to meet the majority of senior needs that exist in our complicated world. Our products range from the Traditional Personal Emergency Response System(PERS) that connects to your phone line, to a cellular unit, a mobile unit with GPS and finally a Mobile 365 pendant with GPS that you can speak into and go anywhere in the USA and Canada. All of our systems do have the ability to have an Auto-Fall feature and all units come with water proof pendants. So for most it is Help at the Push of a Button. However, if you are unable to push the button or you suffer seizures our Auto – Fall button will provide the security you need. Our products start at less than $1/Day, we pay the shipping charges and there is no long term commitment. Throughout the Lehigh Valley set-up and installation are also provided for free.

I started this business over 8 years ago to meet the needs of family members. My mom currently lives alone and utilizes a system from Maintain Your Independence. I know it gives me peace-of-mind that my mom is wearing her pendant and I know it gives her more confidence too. Please let me help you and your mom or dad live as safely and independently as possible.
